Beginning Quilting with Juli Shields

If you would love to learn the skills for creating quilts, but don’t know where to begin, this is the class for you. Created especially for beginners, you will make the following traditional quilt blocks and join them for a finished quilt top measuring 67” x 67” (or you may choose to make the quilt with just one border, in which case it measures 53” x 53”):

• Log Cabin
• Twenty-Five Patch
• Father’s Choice 
• Applique Flower

You will also learn the following skills: 

• Fabric selection
• Squaring fabric
• Reading a quilt pattern
• Rotary cutting and using a Stripology ruler
• Proper pressing
• Measuring for borders
• Basic machine quilting
• Making and attaching binding
• And much more!

Please bring your sewing machine, sewing notions, and fabric. Quilt pattern will be provided. A specific materials list will be sent prior to the first class. Class size is limited to 10  students, so sign up now – spots will fill up quickly!
