This Micro-credential examines the core concepts and principles of blockchain and its emerging importance in areas such as financial services, smart contracts, supply chain logistics and other fields where an open, distributed ledger that can record transactions between two parties efficiently and in a verifiable and permanent way may be useful.

Course Content:

While not offering an examination of the deeper mathematical and cryptographic principles underlying blockchain technology, you will gain an understanding of the fundamentals and potential impacts of blockchain to implement a ‘secure by design’ distributed computing system with high fault tolerance. This will provide you a deeper understanding of the capabilities and limitations of blockchain technology, enabling you to assess which business problems it can potentially solve.
