Breathing Apparatus Operational

This course will enable you to build certainty and confidence in the use of breathing apparatus equipment. It is essential that anyone required to wear breathing apparatus understands the physiology of respiration, the different types of apparatus, how they function and all the relevant procedures.

Key Learning Outcomes:

• Gain an understanding of the relevant Acts, legislation and supporting documentation applicable to the safe operation of breathing apparatus
• Understand the physiology of respiration and how to ensure the correct breathing apparatus is used to undertake the task
• Understand the processes required to correctly check, maintain and operate the equipment in a non-rescue situation
• Understand how to identify and manage risks and hazards associated to the use of self-contained breathing apparatus and hazardous environments
