This qualification has been developed for delivery in a training environment; this means that you do not need to be employed to study this qualification.
You will have the opportunity to work on many live projects and benefit from site visits, industry talks and demonstrations from experts. You will also be encouraged to showcase your skills at local and national competitions, including the Guild of Bricklayers Southern Regional Craft Competition.
You will learn how to use the tools of the trade, how to work safely and make sure others are safe at the same time. This introductory course will help you to learn about these skills as well as the principles of building, block laying and how to do it.
This is a hands-on and theoretical course where you will learn the basic skills to prepare you for a career as a bricklayer in the construction industry. It’s designed for students who have a desire and ambition to become a tradesperson in the construction industry.
