Gilkisons is a new age environment of social dance with a twist on the old fashion stigma that was dancing for years,using modern music,lighting and sound,with a fully licensed bar and air conditioned premises.
The name GILKISONS has been synonymous with the dancing scene since 1931. Many innovations were pioneered by GILKISONS such as teaching at high school and primary school level, television teaching and presentations, learning to dance socially without having to do exams or medals, producing the Festival of Perth championships and other international dancing events at the Entertainment Centre.
The media often misrepresents Modern Ballroom dancing as very formal and perhaps even a little stuffy. In reality, the dances themselves are neither. Dances are merely patterns of movements performed to a musical rhythm
Our Beginners Ballroom Class starts by teaching Slow Rhythm, which forms the basis of many ballroom dances
Your lessons will use the relationship between couple and instructor to create a personalised and fun first dance
