This course is for those who would like to gain an introduction to teaching in the post compulsory sector. You may be already teaching in Further Education, adult and community education, work based learning or the voluntary sector or be a technician/support staff in Further Adult Education, training, personnel in industry, uniformed services or HM forces.
What will I learn
The Level 3 Award in Education and Training is an introductory teaching qualification. Achieving this award will provide evidence that you have acquired the skills and knowledge to prepare, plan, deliver and evaluate basic teaching and learning sessions.
What's next
After completing the course, you can progress on to the BTEC Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training.

Resources are available and can be borrowed (some for use in the LRC only), and training is available in a range of related information skills to enable you to use resources effectively. Printing and photocopying (including colour printing) is available in the LRC. You will receive termly print credits, which can be topped up at a discount rate at the LRC. A college ID card is required to use these facilities.
Fitness Centre
At Redcar & Cleveland College we care about our student’s wellbeing and fitness. That is why we have a brand new state of the art fitness suite on site with the all the equipment students need to help live a healthy lifestyle.
The college also has Level 3 Personal Trainers, which as part of their course, can offer fitness and nutritional advice and can also plan workout regimes to help students stay in shape.
Lead Partners was introduced in 2012 and allows schools to recruit students onto teacher education courses run in collaboration with universities. To make sure you have a range of placement opportunities, schools work together in Teaching Alliances.
