This course will introduce the learner to the various features of budgeting. The course will give an in-depth analysis of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), budget categories, and successfully handling budgets. 

 

Upon successful completion of the course, the learner will have a solid understanding of the following:

  • Understanding ratios.
  • Impacts on Finances.
  • Components of budgeting.
 
 
Outcomes:
  • T1. Budgeting and GAAP Principles: This topic will introduce the learner to what a budget is, how cash is used, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • T2. Categories of Budgets: This topic will introduce the learner to budgets, making impactful business case presentations, and successfully constructing a budget according to the companyÆs business plan.
  • T3. Components of Budgeting: This topic will introduce the learner to the steps that comprise budgeting, compiling budget package data, creating an outline, and making an action plan.
  • T4. Handling Budgets: This topic will introduce the learner to budget-handling methodologies, developing a budget management plan, understanding preventative budgeting techniques, and the excuses for exceeding your budget.
  • T5. Understanding Ratios: This topic will introduce the learner to commonly used ratios, some of which include collection ratios, cash turnover ratios, debt to net worth ratios, and return on sales ratios.
  • T6. Impacts on Finances: This topic will introduce the learner to the importance of finances, where your role within the company exists in relation to other roles within the company, and familiarizing yourself with key financial personnel within the company.
