The program helps students establish a foundation of knowledge and skills related to the business world. For example, the program covers basic accounting, communication, and computer applications commonly used for administrative purposes.
FCC’s Business Office Administration Program provides students with knowledge, skills, and training that can help prepare them for a variety of entry-level office and administrative positions.
The program helps students establish a foundation of knowledge and skills related to the business world. For example, the program covers basic accounting, communication, and computer applications commonly used for administrative purposes.
More specifically, FCC’s faculty of professional instructors train Business Office Administration students to use such prevalent business-related software like Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, QuickBooks, and Access, to name a few.
In addition, the program teaches skills in accounting principles, business calculations, business basics, office administration, and communication.
At FCC, we believe that career training cannot be completed by simply sitting in a classroom. For this reason, our students are required to complete an externship with a local employer prior to graduating from the program.
The externship ensures that students are able to apply what they’ve learned in the classroom in the real world, better preparing them to begin a new and rewarding career within a business office environment.
So, if you enjoy working in an office setting, consider enrolling in FCC’s Business Office Administration Program.
What Does This Program Teach You?
In helping students develop a solid foundation in business office administration, FCC’s Business Office Administration Program provides students with basic accounting concepts and teaches them how to use accounting software such as QuickBooks so that they are able to perform bookkeeping functions upon securing employment.
Additionally, students are taught how to use the Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), enabling them to create address books, mailing lists, inventory lists, and track expenses.
Other important apps such as Adobe Acrobat and Google Apps are also introduced, ensuring a broader skillset when it comes to potential computer use in future administrative positions.
Other “soft skills,” such as proper business etiquette and interpersonal communication, are also addressed and emphasized within the Business Office Administration program.
Here is a list of the topics that the business office management course will cover:
