Description

Are you one of the many aspiring woodworkers, furniture makers, object designers? You have loads of big ideas, a little experience (perhaps you’ve taken some of our other classes?) and you’re looking to commit to a more ambitious project? But you need the gear, space – and a little extra expertise?

Join our Bring Your Own Project WoodWorking class! Over 4 weeks in a small group of up to 4, the teacher will support you as you progress though your self-directed project/s at your own pace.

Once inducted on the machinery you will also have access to our workshop 6 days per week so you come back and work autonomously throughout the entire 6 week period.

During the tutored sessions you’ll plan out your project, refine your designs, connect with local material suppliers, learn essential woodworking skills, new techniques and be inducted (or do a refresher) on our woodworking machinery.

Total beginners – this is not for you. You are asked to take one of our intro courses first- the chopping board course is a great option.

What do you get? 6 weeks, 3 hours a session, max 4 participants, and a dedicated Technician to help you:

  • Machinery inductions and/or refreshers.

  • Address skills gaps for essential woodwork skills.

  • Make a game plan for your project.

  • Have access to our workshop to continue working in between tutored sessions.

  • Refine and resolve the design and tackle making it.

  • Refresh your machinery and tool skills, and provide safety inductions as you need them.

  • Refine techniques and skills in making and machinery use.

  • Guide you through your project from beginning to end.

  • Some materials are included, but students are expected to bring their own materials for their projects – the teacher can help with recommendations.

Is this for you?

  • Project Classes are intended for people who have achieved some proficiency in woodwork, but want a bit of support to realise more ambitious projects, work efficiently, hit new goals, or simply be safer in the workshop.
