The C# Programming with .NET - Basics for Non-Programmers course is designed to teach students the basics of C# programming and familiarize them with the Visual Basic environment.

The course will introduce object oriented principals and teach students how to establish database connectivity into .NET applications.

 

Topics covered in the course include:

  • Navigating the Visual Studio environment

  • Visually design, code, and test a Windows Forms Application

  • Understanding data types and choose when different types are appropriate

  • Using code structures such as conditional statements and loops

  • Creating methods and handle events

  • Utilizing Arrays and Collections

  • Responding to runtime errors and validate user data

  • Creating and using classes

  • Utilizing inheritance

  • Understanding the basics of database connectivity

  • Using ADO.NET to write custom data access code

 

Target Student: 

This course is ideal for both novice programmers and more experienced programmers looking to get familiar with C# and object-oriented principles.

Programming experience is not required, but can be helpful. More experienced programmers will want to take the faster paced Programming in C# class instead of this course.
