We believe there is nothing more important than taking responsibility for a child’s well- being. Whether working as a teacher, nursery nurse or in the care industry, it is vital you can offer a service that is caring, supportive, fun and stimulating. This course will show you how to develop all of these skills and apply them at work.
What will I learn
You must complete a range of mandatory units which are structured into themes:

Theme 2: Legislation, Frameworks and Professional Practice
Theme 3: Play, Development and Learning for School Readiness
Theme 4: Professional Development

You will attend a three-hour weekly session and complete two days a week on a relevant placement.

Printing and photocopying (including colour printing) is available in the LRC. A limited number of print copies are available free of charge, after which printing is available at a discounted rate. A college ID card is required to use these facilities.

The LRC has rooms and spaces available for silent study, tutorial and dedicated Access and Higher Education Study Rooms.

The Postgraduate Teaching Apprenticeship is a school-based initial teacher training route leading to Qualified Teacher Status. There are two possible pathways, one that allows you to specialise in age phase 3-7 (Early Years) and one for 5-11 (General Primary).
The Postgraduate Certificate Education (Innovation in Learning and Teaching) aims to develop knowledgeable and reflective professionals who are able to draw on evidence-based practice in ways that will impact on the workplace and on outcomes for the children and young people in those services.
