This program is designed for complete beginners and for those wishing to refresh their sailing skills.
This program is designed for complete beginners and for those wishing to refresh their sailing skills. Our program is based on the Sail Canada CANSail levels and is taught aboard RS Vision and 420s dinghies.
Participants have the opportunity to earn nationally recognized certificates for each level by demonstrating skills learned in the program. Upon successful completion of this course, you will earn both a CANSail 1 and 2 certification.
CANSail 2 is generally regarded as the level needed to competently sail a boat by yourself.
As your CANSail 1/2 course fee includes a Crew Membership for the season, you can crew on members' boats on our Tuesday and Thursday Race nights after you complete the course.
You can join our Dinghy Fleet Program once you have your CANSail 2 certification, and sail our dinghies for the rest of the summer at a discounted rate.

We are a non-profit, member-run sailing & paddling club located on Toronto's Humber Bay, accessed just off Lakeshore Blvd. Nestled on a two acre site we offer quick access to paddlers and sailors who want to be on the water quickly.
We are sheltered behind a break wall with our neighbours, the Boulevard Club to the west and the Argonauts Rowing Club to the east. Keel boats have a choice of moorings on the break wall, or swing moorings.
Serious keel boat racers may dry sail their boats. Dinghies are stored on land and launched from dollies. Canoe, kayak and outrigger members have convenient racks for their crafts.
Dragon boat and OC6 teams also practice out of TS&CC, as well as some classes of the provincial and national sailing teams. The facilities include a club house with hot showers, bar and grill, fireplace and dance floor. Members may rent it for private functions.
A waterside patio is a peaceful place to enjoy a picnic or watch the sunset. Our bar & grill is open on race nights, Tuesday & Thursday, and the bar is also open on weekends and most evenings (during sailing season only).
Members are welcome to bring down picnic dinners, or use our BBQs when the grill is closed. The club house has lounge, fireplace and dance floor and is available for members to rent for up to 70 people.
As TS&CC is a volunteer club most membership types require a contribution of either 8 or 20 work hours per year. Use your gardening, carpentry, IT or administrative skills to complete your work hours.
The Introduction to Cruising course teaches the basic skills needed to perform the most common maneuvers as a crew member.Â
This program is for those sailors who want to learn to sail independently.
At the end of this Introduction lesson you will be able to manage sailing
The Club is pleased to have Jennifer Adriaanse as our coach dedicated to providing Adult Learn to Sail options for this summer.
CanSail 1 and CanSail 2 levels, sailors are introduced to the essential skills of sailing under the supervision of an instructor.
