In this short 5-hr micro-credential, learners will explore the differences in pressure injury (PI) stages according to National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel.
Learners will discover moisture-associated skin damage from a pressure injury and define skin changes at life's end and how this phenomenon is present across health care sectors.
Learners will also review the concept of avoidable and unavoidable pressure injuries and other skin changes as part of the critical illness or dying.
Learners will also explore pressure injury care planning and the importance of patient-centric care, as well as interprofessional team members required for pressure ulcer assessment and treatment.
Learners will also recognize how to develop a comprehensive treatment plan for a pressure injury patient with their circle of care.
Learners who successfully complete the course will earn a digital badge and certificate of course completion that can be downloaded and shared via social media.
