Another opportunity to learn how to maintain your sewing machine. Many of you know Tom, our lovely Service Engineer who looks after and services all makes of sewing machines and overlockers. Today Tom is with us for a short workshop taking you through basic maintenance of your machine.
We all know that if we look after our machines, they will perform better for longer. Tom will go show you how to clean and oil where necessary, including the race and needlebar areas, plus how to re-set your tensions and balance. You will all receive a maintenance kit which includes the tensioning screwdriver. All models and brands of machine are welcome.
We are a family business located in the centre of the lovely village of East Leake in Leicestershire,Established in 1991, we consider ourselves to be ‘More than just a shop’, with craft groups, workshops and courses taking place every day.
In 2018 we re-located to much larger premises set over two floors, with plenty of free parking, and our neighbours are other traditional village shops, lovely places to eat and drink, plus delightful walks over the meadows.
These workshops are perfect for children aged 8 yrs and above. These classes are for children who would love to learn how to sew. You will learn along side your child to make a beautiful hand sewn project to take home.
A class for absolute beginners and a fantastic course to get you on your way – learn how to thread and operate a sewing machine confidently. Take your samples home with you and have everything you need to refer to in the future.
Sewing classes are offered by Blue Cat Clothing for all skill level. Designing and dressmaking is my passion. I strive to give trust and confidence to my students.
This introduction to using a sewing machine begins with learning a bit about fabrics and hand stitching. You will then learn how to set up and operate a sewing machine to make seams, facings, darts, hems and buttonholes and to set in a zip.
The course consists of 5 units, each of which takes you through all the great functions step by step, building your knowledge of the software and guiding you through every stage, building your confidence to try new things.
