What Will I Learn?
The Diploma Level 2 is part of the Foundation Modern Apprenticeship framework (Technical Certificate). For the Diploma Level 2 learners will carry out:
Coleg y Cymoedd (meaning college of the valleys) was formed in 2013, following the merger of The College Ystrad Mynach and Coleg Morgannwg.

Working in partnership with more than 800 employers, the college’s Business Services team offer a wide range of Apprenticeship and Bespoke Commercial Training packages.
The college has invested significantly in its facilities in recent years, with standout projects including the Nantgarw Campus building (a £40 million award winning campus), Aberdare Campus (a £22 million campus opened 2017), state of the art Railway Training and Motor Vehicle Facilities.
You will be taught by tutors with years of experience in shopfitting and house building. You will learn core skills in producing basic woodworking joints and using various hand and power tools.

This occupation involves carrying out advanced skilled work, primarily using timber products, either on a construction site, or in a workshop, creating and installing building components.
On completion of the Woodwork Foundation Course you will be welcome to develop your woodworking skills further through project work during the daytime or evening classes.
