Course Details

This is a Workboat Association course which has been created in liason with the MCA. The training covers:

  • Familiarisation with the rules governing the carriage of dangerous goods by sea, (IMDG) Code.

  • The use and structure of the IMDG Code

  • The documentation and rules specific to the carriage of Dangerous Goods on board Workboats

  • Industry best practice

Designed for those working onboard workboats involved with the transportation of dangerous goods, and those working ashore who are involved with the transportation of dangerous goods aboard workboats, the objective of the course is to provide training compliant with the UK Maritime Administration (Maritime and Coastguard Agency) training requirements as per the UK Workboat Code 2 sections 26.8 and 29.5.1. The course addresses the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code, the UK Workboat Code and the associated UK Merchant Shipping Regulations.

The course is a 3-4 hour long course (inc. assessment) which can be held online or in a classroom, with a maximum of 6 people online and 8 people in a classroom. Training resources included within the course price is a hard copy of the ‘The carriage of Dangerous Goods on Workboats Good Practice Guide’, by the Workboat Association.
