Designed for those working onboard workboats involved with the transportation of dangerous goods, and those working ashore who are involved with the transportation of dangerous goods aboard workboats, the objective of the course is to provide training compliant with the UK Maritime Administration (Maritime and Coastguard Agency) training requirements as per the UK Workboat Code 2 sections 26.8 and 29.5.1. The course addresses the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code, the UK Workboat Code and the associated UK Merchant Shipping Regulations.
The course is a 3-4 hour long course (inc. assessment) which can be held online or in a classroom, with a maximum of 6 people online and 8 people in a classroom. Training resources included within the course price is a hard copy of the ‘The carriage of Dangerous Goods on Workboats Good Practice Guide’, by the Workboat Association.
Formed in 2010 by Directors Simon and Vicky Jinks, SeaRegs has evolved in the past years to its purpose-built training centre at Turnchapel Wharf, Plymouth.
The Plymouth centre has a dedicated Navigation Simulation room for ECDIS and Radar training as well as a workshop for engineering and Seamanship training, allowing specific and specialised training.
