Course Details

This course is ideal if you have little or no teaching experience. CELTA is the initial qualification most widely recognised by employers for teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) or English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) both in the UK and abroad.

  • Practical skills for teaching English to adult learners

  • Methodology: procedures and techniques for helping learners with grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, listening, speaking, reading and writing

  • Teaching practice

Entry Requirements

  • You must be at least 19 years old Selection is by interview and internal tests

Assessment

Assessment is based on your teaching practice and written assignments for CELTA

CELTA is recognised by the British Council and in the UK and around the world by employers of English language teachers. It provides you with entry to the profession in teaching ESOL in FE Colleges in the UK, teaching in private language schools, and teaching abroad
