This qualification is suitable if you wish to learn initial counselling skills to help and support others, either in a voluntary or employed capacity.

Basic counselling skills will be gradually introduced as part of forming a helping relationship.  It is a practical course with an emphasis on learning through doing.  

The student will develop their ability to communicate with people more effectively and develop an understanding of their impact on others in a helping relationship.
