Certificate Ii In Security Operations

To work in NSW as a Security Officer, new entrants will be required to complete the CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations and HLTAID011 Provide First Aid, comprising 14 Units of Competency. This is the new program which came into effect on 1 June 2023 with new requirements.

The course covers the basic legal, operational and practical skills to start working in the manpower (Class 1) sector of the security industry. Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will be able to apply to SLED for their FULL NSW Class 1A security licence.

Entry Requirements:

• As stipulated by SLED, students must satisfy the following requirements:
• Be 18 years of age or over
• Must have a current HLTAID011 Provide first aid certificate prior to enrolment
• You must provide 100 Points of Identification upon enrolment
• Be a fit and proper person to hold the class of licence sought
• Meet prescribed Language, Literacy and Numeracy requirements, which includes completing a SLED Pre-Enrolment test at least one week prior to course commencement day. You must attend in person at a Star Training campus in order to complete the testing and to complete mandatory paperwork from the NSW Police Force.
• LLN Testing is conducted at Granville Campus from Monday – Friday between 11:00am – 1:00pm
• Be an Australian/New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.
• Must have a Driver Licence, Photo Card from Service NSW.

What To Bring And Wear:

• Must bring 100 Points of Identification
• Note pad and a pen
• Neat and tidy clothing and enclosed footwear at all times
• Ensure personal hygiene is a priority and be considerate of other students as you are in a group environment for extended periods. Please wear clean clothing and ensure you use personal hygiene products like deodorant.
