This level of qualification is ideal for those wanting to deliver direct care work to the clients/ residents. It requires completing activities of Daily Living usually under the supervision with some independent decision making about the care.
There are 13 Units of competency in this course, of which 6 are Electives, developed in consultation with the Industry, and therefore affords you the advantage of current demands for the jobs available.
On completion students are supported with writing their CVs, preparation for Interviews and assistance with job applications.
Current data shows that over 80% of students are employed at the end of their training in the Aged Care, Disability and Home and Community Care sectors despite the course units chosen across these modules. eg: the student can get a job as a support care worker in the disability sector even though they may have completed the course with the Aged Care Elective Units.
