• Database Design, ER Diagram and Unified Modeling Language: Data base design, ER relationship model, ER diagram, implementation diagram, advantages of UML diagram, disadvantages of UML diagram, data base access from application programs, data base design, design process.
• Relational database model: Objectives, logical view of data, relational database design, features of good relational database design, bibliography, keys, integrity rules, Atomic domain & Normalization.
• Constraints, Views and SQL: Data constraints, domain constraints, triggers SQL, security and authorization in SQL, Characteristics of SQL, Advantage of SQL, SQL Literals, Types of SQL, SQL Operator,  Set Operation, Data Definition Commands, data manipulation commands, database modification, data control commands, views in SQL, nested complex queries.
• Transaction management and Concurrency: ACID properties, serializability and concurrency control,  lock based concurrency control, time stamping methods, optimistic methods, database recovery management.
• PL-SQL:  Beginning with PL/ SQl, identifiers and keywords, operators, expressions, sequences, control structure, cursors and transaction, collections composite data types, procedures and functions, exceptions handling, packages, with clause and Hierarchical, retrieval, triggers.
