Our Singapore Green Plan 2030 is a whole-of-nation sustainable development agenda, where one of the key targets is to achieve net zero emissions through solar energy deployment.
Beyond the typical approach of covering roof tops with solar panels, it is timely for us to explore harnessing solar power through architectural-integrated systems; in the form of Building-Added Photovoltaics (BAPV) or Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV).
Objectives
This course aims to keep professionals abreast on the latest BAPV and BIPV technologies as well as to equip industry practitioners with knowledge to design and adopt these systems for greater solar energy deployment.
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
Differentiate the types, functions and designs of BAPV/BIPV technologies;
Determine optimal placement and suitability of BAPV/BIPV; and
Evaluate projects for BAPV/BIPV deployment.
BCA Academy is the education and training arm of the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), Singapore. Since its establishment in 1984, BCA Academy has been providing quality training and education pathways for a diverse group of audience. It offers wide range of built environment programmes which are rigorous and practice-oriented.
At BCA Academy, training pedagogy is enhanced through various on-campus learning galleries and experiential learning features of the training facilities. Through the years, the Academy has been producing quality graduates who excel in their jobs. BCA Academy also partners with established universities to deliver leadership programmes to develop the managerial and technical competencies of the industry leaders, who play a crucial role to future-proof the built environment sector.
ISO 50001 is the international standard for Energy Management, the standard specifies requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and improving an energy management system, with the purpose of enabling organizations to follow a systematic approach
The electricity industry in Singapore was de-regulated, thus giving many more options to the industrial and in time also for residential consumers. This was expected translate into more innovative and market driven energy products for consumers like competitive energy prices and energy efficient de...
Solar panel systems can be complex, but going solar doesn't have to be a difficult operation. Learn more about solar panel technology, and the implications and development of solar in Solar 101.
Energy management is a key tool to improve sustainability. It is the process of monitoring, controlling and conserving energy use, enabling unnecessary energy use to be systematically identified and eliminated, thereby increasing the overall energy efficiency of equipment and facilities.
This course provides participants with the knowledge of Solar energy resource, Solar PV technologies, design of PV systems and skills in the installation, testing & commissioning and O&M of Solar PV System.
