A Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) is a certification offered to accountants who conduct internal audits. They primarily conduct audits, review and analyze financial statements, and work with company management to ensure that proper internal controls are put in place to safeguard assets.

They also manage verification systems to detect fraud, misuse of funds, and validate transactions. In other words, they make sure people and businesses are playing by the rules and financial reports accurately reflect reality. Put simply, they review an organization's business processes to evaluate risk management procedures to rotect against fraud, theft, and misuse of the organization's assets.

Curriculum:
