Accident rates within the woodworking sector are among the highest in manufacturing. Although you have a legal responsibility for the safety of your workforce, it also makes good business sense to promote safer working practices resulting in less down time and more efficient practice.

Our strong working relationship over the last few years has meant that we have teamed up to offer you detailed and excellent overviews of new and used market leading machines, the range of Aigner or Suva Safety equipment, as supplied by us, together with advice on available training packages.
Based in the East Midlands, we offer certified operator woodworking training courses throughout the UK, Republic of Ireland and Channel Islands. All our courses can be tailored to suit Industrial Machines and Educational Machinery.
Safety Training Woodworking was set up to respond to the needs of the woodworking industry by John Gubb in 1994. John had, for the previous 20 years, been involved in the education and training of woodcutting machinists, joinery and furniture makers whilst retaining a link with industry and research.
John remained up to date with both industry and education. Collaborative ventures with the Health and Safety Executive and local companies resulted in Safety Training Woodworking taking part in the safety video “The Cutting Edge” and providing supporting information for the HSE and others in the legal proceedings.
We also offer bespoke furniture, woodworking and design courses for both groups and individuals. A bespoke course enables students to select their own content and duration.
This largely practical programme is for individuals who have a genuine interest in carpentry or joinery and wish to gain employment in the industry. Progression after the programme could be onto Level 2 Carpentry, Advanced Construction Award or employment in the industry; or an Apprenticeship.
The Builder Training Centre (The BTC) offers high quality structured Carpentry Courses, which can be attended as a 5 day course during the week (Monday to Friday) or, for those that have commitments during the week, a weekend course (2 consecutive weekends).
