Overview

This Chainsaw Operations Level 1 course includes the theoretical and practical components to meet the skills and knowledge required to trim and cut felled trees, and minor chainsaw maintenance.

 

Participants will gain the following skills and knowledge:

  • Trimming and cutting hardwood or softwood trees

  • Tree defects and stresses

  • Cutting techniques, patterns and sequences

  • Basic chainsaw maintenance activities

  • Hazards and risks

  • Environmental protection practices

 

Training and assessment is conducted at Site Skills Training facilities. Upon arrangement, training and assessment can be conducted at the premises of industry clients providing there are suitable industry training facilities.
