Course Description
The Prepare and Apply Chemicals to Control Pests, Weeds and Diseases Course will teach participants the skills and knowledge required to prepare and apply chemicals for the control of pests across a range of industry sectors.
It will suit applicants who work under broad direction and take responsibility for their own work. The Transport and Store Chemicals Course will teach participants the practical skills and knowledge to select, transport, store, record, mix and use chemicals used in the agricultural and horticultural sectors.
Completion of this course will lead to participants applying for their Agricultural Chemical Users Permit (ACUP).

Pre-Requisites
Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.
Applicants will be required to undertake pre-course reading of an activity book to ensure an understanding of the learning content that will be reviewed in the class contact time. These materials will be supplied to the participants upon enrolment and payment of the course.
Intermediate English skills are required.
Assessment Process
The course incorporates a variety of knowledge and theory based questionnaires and practical demonstration.
Outcome
Upon successful completion participants will be issued with the following nationally recognised Statement of Attainment: AHCCHM307 Prepare and Apply Chemicals to Control Pests, Weeds and Diseases and AHCCHM304 Transport and Store Chemicals.
What to Wear
All course participants are required to wear appropriate work attire, including closed-toe shoes and long trousers.
Morning Tea and Lunch
Participants are required to provide their own refreshments. Tea, coffee and water will be provided. There is a microwave available for use.

In order to improve outcomes, all candidates in the Basic Scaffolding course will be required to show completion of RIIWHS204E Work Safely at Heights unit. This can be completed through Breight Education prior to the start of the basic scaffold course.
