Containing all the practical skills to keep you and your colleague safe, this course will be required to be able to operate a forklift with a Safety Platform attached.
The one-day course will give trainees theoretical and practical skills in:
Identify a powered industrial lift truck (PILT) safety cage and prepare to use a safety platform for a specified task on a worksite
Complete pre-operational checks, and fit and remove safety platform to and from a PILT
Use a PILT fitted with a safety platform to complete work at heights.

This course is designed for operators with little to no experience and/or looking to obtain their unit standards. Experienced operators will also benefit from attending this course.
This course will also enable you to perform pre-operational inspections, action start-up procedures for a forklift; and gain competence in using forklift skills to maneuverer loads, drive safely in multiple environments, and park and shut down the forklift.
For anyone who hasn’t completed any elevated work platform training we recommend this course to form a good foundation of knowledge. Please note that this is not an NZQA course – it’s better.
Our  confined spaces courses cover NZQA unit standards 18426 Hazards of a confined space and 17599 Plan a confined space entry. We can deliver this training either at our purpose built training sites at Timaru or Napier, or we’ll come to your site and work within your confined spaces.
