Why study Chinese?
Mandarin Chinese is the world’s second-most spoken language. Learn Chinese in order to join the huge community of Chinese speakers. China has the world’s second-largest economy. If you pursue a career in international business, speaking Chinese may give you a leg up.

Course Offerings
Dallas College offers beginning and intermediate Chinese courses. Check the credit class schedule for current course availability.
The Core Curriculum
Chinese courses are part of the Dallas College Core Curriculum. Ask your success coach whether you can incorporate Chinese courses into your degree plan.
Placement
If you are already proficient in Mandarin Chinese and feel that you are ready to skip one or more levels, you may take a placement exam. The placement exam will be used only for placement. It will not give you credit for any courses skipped. Before deciding whether or not to take a placement exam, please consult with your success coach.
Concurrent (Noncredit) Enrollment
If you'd like to take a college-level Chinese class but do not need college credit, you can take it “concurrently" for noncredit. A concurrent section may already exist on the Continuing Education (CE) schedule. Please contact a CE success coach if you have any questions.

We love running our After School programs! Each week we bring the language and culture of China to over 100 students at more than a dozen of the best private and public schools in NYC. Â Our After School classes are typically for students in K-6, often broken down.
General foreign language program which enables students to acquire structures and vocabulary progressively and efficiently so that they can communicate with native speakers on a number of essential topics.
Chinese (Mandarin) language course is offered by International Centre for Language Studies. The foreign language program is tailored to meet the language objectives of each student.
Our curriculum is built to follow the Chinese Preschool and Elementary School Curriculum program for early learners and for children in bilingual families or schools and Chinese as a second language for beginners of 6+ years and tweens that are just getting started.
