This certificate opens up possibilities for careers after school, both here in Australia, within a range of industries, as well as overseas in China and in countries that do business with China.
Being able to record another language on your resume also demonstrates to employers that you are prepared to challenge yourself with learning a new language and that you are motivated to work hard to achieve your goals.
What We Do This VET
The certificate is a qualification in the study of a language that is recognized across Australia. Through this course, students learn to interact with a range of people in a variety of contexts - both in social settings and in the workplace.
Students who meet the criteria to achieve this Certificate can be awarded with the Certificate at the end of Year 11 (providing them with a nationally recognized qualification) and space for an extra Unit 3/4 study in Year 12.
Studying other languages provides students with direct access to the rich and varied cultural communities around the world.

Our new Language Centre offers a vibrant, 21st Century learning space where students can learn a range of languages. We offer Chinese First Language, the study of Chinese through VET, Indonesian, German, and French.

Interested in learning the language that has more native speakers than any other in the world, with nearly a billion users. This fascinating language originated in northern China and is the official language in that country as well as one of the four official languages of Singapore.
Our teachers are native speakers, brilliant Educators and are amazing at connecting with, and inspiring their students. Our pre-schooler programs are very ‘hands on’ and include many sensory elements to get the children engaged and speaking Chinese naturally.
Our Corporate Chinese Language and Culture Training program is aimed at businesses in Australia who want their employees to be able to communicate better with colleagues, customers and suppliers in China.
Chinese (Mandarin Traditional) Language course is offered by Victorian School of Languages. Â In standards and content, courses are comparable to those offered in day school language classes, and follow a standard course design.
