The Cisco Certified Networking Academy (CCNA) programme trains you to design, build, and maintain secure computer networks using an e-learning environment with a web-based curriculum and many practical exercises.
Technology is constantly changing the way we live, and IT professionals such as programmers, security specialists, and administrators are in high demand.
The Cisco Certified Networking Academy (CCNA) programme trains you to design, build, and maintain secure computer networks using an e-learning environment with a web-based curriculum and many practical exercises.
The CCNA programme consists of three modules. It focuses on switching technologies and router operations that support small-to-medium business networks, including wireless local area networks (WLAN), and security concepts.
Upon completing the programme, you will be prepared for the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA v7) and the Network+ Industry Certification Examinations.
Wintec is part of Te Pūkenga – New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology, together with all the other polytechnics in New Zealand.
From 2023, all Wintec learners will be enrolled with Te Pūkenga, instead of Wintec. Right now, our people will continue to support our learners. They will still be enrolled in the same qualification and will continue to learn in the same way, in the same place, with the same people.
Being a part of Te Pūkenga means we will be more connected to the other organisations delivering vocational and applied education in Aotearoa New Zealand and we will work with them to share skills and knowledge to better help you succeed.
We are excited to be part of Te Pūkenga which has been set up as part of the Government’s Reform of Vocational Learning. Te Pūkenga is creating a network of online, on-campus and on-job learning to give learners more flexibility in what, where and how they learn.
Join UCOL's STAR Cisco (CCNA 1) Programme to gain a high level of networking knowledge.
This course analyses and explores the operation of network protocols and services under various types of attack. You’ll learn how to implement monitoring tools and methods for preventing access to computer networks, hosts and data.
The course is primarily aimed at IP v4 but does give an overview of IP v6 addressing and covers migration from an IP v4 to an IP v6 network. Other protocols and technologies (VPN's / Wireless) may be demonstrated if time permits.
If you’re ready to move into the next stage of your IT career and are interested in roles such as a network engineer, network administrator or systems engineer, then the Cisco Certified Network Associate – CCNA certification is for you.
On this course you’ll learn how to analyse and implement routing protocols in an enterprise network; implement IP-based route redistribution and Path Control; and implement enterprise connections to the internet.
