CITB Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)

Accredited by CITB and endorsed by Build UK, this two-day course introduces Site Supervisors to their legal responsibilities regarding health, safety, welfare and environmental issues. The course is specifically designed for first line managers or those who have or are about to acquire supervisory responsibilities.

This course can be delivered remotely, using instructor-led online learning or as classroom-based training. For the online-learning option, you will need access to a laptop or desktop computer with a webcam, microphone and speaker, unfortunately you cannot complete the course on a tablet or phone.

The certificate is valid for 5 years. Delegates will then need to attend the 1 Day SSSTS Refresher course.

Aims:
At the end of this SSSTS course, successful candidates will have an understanding of:

• The problems within the construction industry

• Explain how health and safety law is structured, and how it applies to supervisors

• Identify how the supervisory role fits in with the management structure in controlling site health and safety

• Carry out risk assessments and method statements

• Carry out effective site inductions, toolbox talks and method statement briefings

• Monitor site activities effective

• Understand the important of timely intervention when bad practices are identified
