Once candidates receive the CMA designation, they must satisfy a continuing education requirement. While the attainment of the CMA designation is not a legal requirement for the practice of management accounting, it does enhance the professional reputation of the successful candidate and is generally considered an advantage in finding a position or in gaining salary increases and promotions.
