What is Coaching for Education?
Our Coaching for Education programme is designed to help teachers feel more confident and effective in their roles, leading to improved outcomes for students. Our team of experienced coaches work with teachers and support staff to identify areas for growth, set goals, and develop strategies for success. With our support, teachers can feel empowered to take risks, try new approaches, and develop their skills over time.
We believe that coaching in education is a powerful tool for supporting learners as well. By helping teachers to feel more confident and effective, we can create an environment in which students feel supported and challenged. Our coaching and mentoring programme can help teachers to develop strategies for engaging students, building relationships, and fostering a love of learning.
Course Structure
The Coaching programme is structured in two stages:
Stage One: Theoretical Learning
During the first stage of the program, you will study the theoretical aspects of coaching and mentoring, including:
Role and responsibilities of a coach and mentor
Skill and qualities required for effective coaching
The principles of coaching and mentoring
Professionalism and ethics
Maximising potential and goal setting
Developing constructive feedback methods
Creating a safe and supportive environment
Stage Two: School-based Experience
In the second stage of the programme, you will gain practical experience in a school or college setting, working with our experienced coaches and putting your learning into practice. We will support you to develop your own coaching style whilst completing a 12 hours coaching and mentoring log.
Assessment
Assessment is ongoing throughout the program and includes written assignments, coaching and mentoring observations, and self-reflection. You will also be required to complete an online portfolio of evidence demonstrating your understanding and application of the theoretical aspects of teaching and your practical experience in the school.
