Black Boys Code is a national organization with 11 chapters across Canada, and one in the USA (with future expansions to come). Our Mission is to improve the future of Black youth through education in computer science and technology.
We are inspiring a generation of Black youth to take control of their future and become tomorrow’s digital creators and technological innovators. We do that by helping them develop digital literacy and computer competence.
The foundation of a path towards a career in technology. Our Vision is for Black youth to identify the skills and talents they possess so that they can realize their full potential.
Preparing them for success as tomorrow’s technology leaders and innovators. We give Black youth the training and tools to create their own futures and thrive in the innovation economy.
Computer Coding classes are offered by Stem Play for kids. While moving through the engineering design process from idea to implementation, kids work independently and collaboratively to solve complex, real-world problems creating rich and immersive learning experiences.
The introductory course introduces the student to the VEX IQ structural pieces and how they are used to build a sturdy robot. Students learn how to use VEX Code block programming language. In the advanced course students learn about the various sensors available to aid the robot in its movements
Learn about coding and programming, quality design, user experience and user interface, and more as you go through the process of creating an app from the ground up.
Once students have fully understood all the fundamentals of Python, they will learn how to apply the concepts to create practical projects. The projects created are done by developing applications using external libraries. The topics covered in this course are Game Development and Data Analyzing.
Learn how the virtual robot and Class Connecting platforms give educators and kids the tools they need to develop coding and problem-solving abilities while also engineering the future.
