This course will introduce the importance of communication and interpersonal skills essential to establishing and maintaining effective therapeutic relationships with intraprofessional health care providers and clients.
This course will introduce the role, professional qualities, and scope of practice of the Personal Support Worker; including, professional practice issues and trends, ethics, client or worker rights and applicable legislation.
The Canadian Health Care system and Intraprofessional Education (IPE) will also be examined.

The Caregiver Certificate is a comprehensive six-month foundation program that trains students on ways to help family or friends with challenges due to illness, disability, or aging. This program prepares students to meet the needs of a loved one with an injury, illness, or disability.
The program trains Master Trainers and Facilitators, who in turn train parents and other caregivers to use scientifically proven strategies for promoting child development, reducing disruptive behaviors and strengthening their own coping skills.
This program does not require approval under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005.
