IELTS Test Components

Despite having 4 components, the test only takes 2 hours and 45 minutes to do.

IELTS Reading

There are 40 questions in the IELTS Reading test. Each question that is correctly answered earns one mark. As a result, 40 is the highest score you can obtain. On the basis of this score, a band score between Band 1 and Band 9 is subsequently given. Time – 60 Minutes

IELTS Writing

Examiners utilise specific assessment criteria that define spoken and written performance at each of the 9 IELTS bands when grading the Writing component of the test. Each of the four categories—Task Achievement (for Task 1), Task Response (for Task 2), Coherence and Cohesion, Lexical Resource, and

Grammatical Range and Accuracy—receives a band score from the examiners. Equal weight is given to these 4 factors. The writing portion is divided into two sections: academic and general. The General IELTS requires the candidate to go through a letter writing session, whereas the majority of students choose the Academic pattern, which is a little more difficult. Task 2 is more important than Task 1 in determining your ultimate band score. Time – 60 Minutes

IELTS Speaking

Each of the four criterion areas—Coherence and Fluency, Grammatical Accuracy and Range, and Pronunciation and Lexical Resource—receives a band score from the examiners. Equal weight is given to these 4. The test consists of three sections and is structured like an interview. Most likely, the interview will seem like a casual discussion that touches on some of your past, current, and future circumstances. Time – Up to 15 Minutes

IELTS Listening

40 questions make up the test. You will only have the opportunity to hear the listening materials once because they are on a cassette tape, CD, or DVD. You will only have 10 minutes to copy your responses into the answer sheet when the recorded content is finished. Time – 30 Minutes
