This course is a requirement for an individual who is not employed by a licensed rigger who will perform rigging or signaling work during the hoisting or lowering of articles on the outside of a building within the 5 Boroughs of New York City (NYC).
Our course is designed to meet OSHA’S new crane compliance standard for qualified signalperson. A qualified signalperson is defined as a person who knows and understands the type of signals used at the worksite, is competent in using these signals understands the operations and limitations.
This workshop is designed to be a component of an employer’s internal basic rigging and signaling training program by providing the required core classroom training, written knowledge verification quizzes, and fundamental hands-on workshop rigging scenarios to assist employers in meeting federal.
This one-day rigging and signaling class is facilitated with an interactive workbook and “hands-on” exercises. Participants must be able to read and understand English, as well comprehend basic math, and use a calculator.
This course is designed for individuals interested in training qualified riggers. The course places special emphasis on ANSI/ASSP Z490.1 which provides guidance on how to manage overall safety training programs.
