Students learn to interpret blueprints, set up manual and CNC machines, perform basic and advanced machining operations and make decisions to ensure that work quality is maintained. Employment opportunities for machining technicians exist in manufacturing industries, public institutions, government agencies, and in a wide range of specialty machining shops.
The Computer-Integrated Machining Technology Program at Central Piedmont provides students with the opportunity to expand their knowledge and skills in CNC programming and broader knowledge in CNC Graphics Programming. All projects are performed on full-scale industrial equipment used in the local industry.

This four day course leads the student from the basics of writing and running Python scripts to more advanced features such as file operations, regular expressions, working with binary data, and using the extensive functionality of Python modules.
This is a class for computer-literate people with no programming background who wish to learn basic Python programming.
Students will learn to write in one of the world’s premier programming languages, using an innovative hardware microcomputer and challenging, relevant projects. This course will establish a robust foundation in computer programming and teach good coding habits from the start.
The three-day mill CNC training course teaches operators/programmers to navigate and program the control using Milltronics conversational pages. Students spend their first day learning about floating zeros, tool offsets and front panel operations.
