This unit provides the skills and knowledge required to conduct civil construction excavator operations safely and effectively in an operational role within the ever-growing civil construction industry.
Depending on experience, ACTA Group offers 1-day and 3-day course options to obtain all the skills required to conduct excavator operations in a civil construction environment.
Upon course completion students must demonstrate the ability to:
Access and interpret all relevant documentation
Conduct pre-start and pre-operational checks
Safely and effectively operate excavator
Conduct shut down procedures
Demonstrate good housekeeping
Participants Must:
Be at least 15 years of age;
Have completed Year 10 in the Australian school system or equivalent;
Have language, literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to ASCF Level 2;
Provision of the participant’s Unique Student Identifier (USI)
Provision of Australian legal photo identification for assessment purposes
Hold a valid WHS White Card or equivalent
Be employed in a civil construction role allowing relevant construction work to be completed, and study via a workplace supported pathway.

This course has been designed for individuals who are required to implement an emergency response as specified in the facility emergency procedures or specified by a person at a higher level in the emergency control organisation (ECO)
This unit is nationally recognised and can only be delivered by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that complies with governing standards of quality control and quality training and assessment.
This course includes training to test the working atmosphere, to determine if it is safe for the proposed work, involving the use of electronic test apparatus requiring the person to interpret readings and take action.
The unit of competency MSMWHS217 Gas test atmospheres as a standalone unit. The target participants for this course delivery are those working in industry and may have some knowledge of atmosphere gas testing but do not hold the unit of competency MSMWHS217 Gas test atmospheres.
This course is aimed at workers who in their fields of work may be potentially exposed to asbestos or asbestos containing material. The course is designed to give participants the knowledge to identify and report asbestos containing materials.
