This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to recognise potentially hazardous manual tasks, and then to prepare for and complete those tasks in a safe manner. This unit applies to all workers involved in manual handling tasks.
The skills in this unit must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian/New Zealand standards and industry codes of practice. The Hazardous manual tasks code of practice applies to this work.

Undertake first response to fire course is designed to enable workplace staff to safely control a fire emergency situation, understand general safety principles and the use of firefighting equipment including fire extinguishers, hose reels and fire blankets
This unit of competency is targeted at those participants who are apprentices, maintenance workers, construction workers or those in the maritime industry who maybe exposed to a risk of a fall from one level to another that is reasonably likely to cause injury to the worker.
