Confined Space Course

Learn to identify and control the risks of Restricted and Confined Spaces, such as trenches, pits, cellars, tanks, vessels, and septic tanks. Part 5 of the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Code will be covered.

Work permits for confined space, Monitor, Entrant, and Tending worker responsibilities, emergency response, code of practice, lockout procedures, administrative controls, and personal protective equipment.

Case Studies on fatalities in Alberta caused by atmospheric and physical hazards and worker complacency.

Physical Skills:

Supplied air and self-contained breathing apparatus, examples of rescue in a classroom environment, use of electronic gas monitors, and confined space harnesses.
