The aim of this training is to satisfy the manufacturers and PUWER’s requirements that all users of the ACX are sufficiently trained and competent in the use of equipment in the workplace.
We specialise in teaching Industrial Rope Access to IRATA standards, and are based in Sheffield, UK. Our training centre is in a Grade II listed Victorian Barracks, where the 14m high Drill Hall provides an excellent all-weather training area on beautiful arched steelwork; a scale version of that used in G-MEX and St. Pancras.
This intensive course will give all participants the required knowledge about the Skylotec Act-Safe ACX Power Ascender for lifting goods and personnel safely.

On this intensive course, you’ll learn:
Checking the SKYLOTEC ACX device before use
Inspection of main and belay ropes prior to deployment.
Sound knowledge of tying anchor, centre line and end knots on ropes to understand their limitations
Risk assessment
Design the work area safely and have a sound knowledge of how to monitor safety
Selection of anchor points
Have a comprehensive knowledge of rope work equipment
Correct choice of safety harness
Correct attachment of the ACX device and seat board to the user
Correct use of the SKYLOTEC ACX device
Ascent and descent with the SKYLOTEC ACX device
Rescue plans and rescue of the user
Prerequisites:
Self-certified medical certificate during induction before training
Valid Working at Height certificate or Slinger/Signaller qualification
