Course Details

Our Confined Space Training is designed for any personnel that work in a confined space area. This course covers confined space safety, including hazard identification, risk management and required permits to work. The 2 Day Confined Space training includes Gas Test Atmospheres MSMWHS217.

 

Course Elements

The essential outcomes for the course as prescribed in the unit of competency requirements are:

  • RIIWHS202E – Enter and work in confined spaces: Plan and prepare for working in confined space, work in confined space, exit confined space, clean up.
  • MSMWHS217 – Gas test atmospheres: Prepare for gas testing, test gas, maintain equipment.
  • RIIRIS201E – Conduct local risk control: Plan and prepare for risk control, assess and identify unacceptable risk, identify, assess and implement risk treatments, complete records and reports.
  • MSMPER200 – Work in accordance with an issued permit: Apply for permit, identify the scope of the permit, prepare for permitted work, work in accordance with an issued permit, complete permit to work.
  • MSMWHS201 – Conduct hazard analysis: Define the context for the hazard analysis, identify hazards, assess risks, control risks, monitor and review risk control.
  • MSMPER202 – Observe permit work: Prepare for the job, control the permit site, take appropriate action for potential incident, complete safety observer role.

 

Course Outcomes

Upon successful completion students will receive a Wallet Card and Statement of Attainment recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework for the following units of competency:

  • RIIWHS202E Enter and work in confined spaces
  • MSMWHS217 Gas test atmospheres
  • RIIRIS201E Conduct local risk control
  • MSMPER200 Work in accordance with an issued permit
  • MSMWHS201 Conduct hazard analysis
  • MSMPER202 Observe permit work

 

Course Venue

Training and assessment is conducted at the 3D Safety Training Centre or training can be conducted on-site at the premises of industry clients providing there have suitable infrastructure and training facilities.
