Course Details

This one-day program is for workers required to enter confined spaces and those who perform related work. This represents the first in a two step process for meeting the legal duty to provide workers with confined space training. (See below for details of the second step.)

Training participants will review the components required in a workplace/plan specific confined space program. This discussion will focus on hazard assessment, entry permits, atmospheric testing and on-site rescue procedures. Participants will then explore the many potential atmospheric and safety hazards in confined spaces.

This discussion will include work procedures and strategies for the identification of potential hazards and their control. Specific attention is paid to the use and maintenance of respirators and other personal protective equipment along with duties of attendants and the various aspects of on-site rescue.
