Confined Spaces

Confined Spaces course is offered by SGS Academy.This subject is aimed at Supervisors, Managers and/or Safety Officers, or any person who wants to know more about safety management in the workplace.

Description

This subject consists of 5 modules, which explore confined spaces.

1. Overview of confined spaces. 
2. Confined space hazards.
3. Control of confined space hazards.
4. Roles, responsibilities and training requirements.
5. Confined space entry programme.

Objectives

• I will have a good comprehension of the concept and classification of confined spaces, how to identify the hazards and be aware of potential incidents when entering confined spaces.
• I will be able to interpret the engineering and administrative controls of confined space hazards and be aware of all PPE and emergency equipment available to ensure my safety.
• I will be able to recognize the roles, responsibilities and training requirements of individuals working in confined spaces.
• I will gain insight into the confined space programme, the importance of planning and preparation before entering a confined space and the emergency procedures to follow in the event of an incident.
