The purpose of this course is to provide you with knowledge and skill to be capable to safely perform procedures and policies relating to entering, working in and exiting from confined spaces.

This course will also provide you with the knowledge to be able to identify confined space hazards and precautions required to work safely.

Gain an overview of confined spaces by:

  • Discussing the characteristics of confined spaces
  • Discussing reasons for entering confined spaces
  • Comprehending incidents in confined spaces

 

Identify confined space hazards by:

  • Explaining confined spaces
  • Classifying confined space openings
  • Discussing the identification and recording of confined spaces
  • Recognising confined space hazards
  • Discussing the hazard assessment of confined spaces

 

Interpreting controls of confined space hazards by:

  • Gaining an overview of controls
  • Discussing engineering controls
  • Discussing administrative controls (work practices)
  • Recognising personal protective equipment (PPE) used in confined spaces
