Course Details

The Astutis Confined Spaces Safety course covers the dangers and risks associated with Confined Spaces. You will gain an understanding of safe working systems and practices, in line with the Confined Spaces Safety Regulations, and the roles involved in risk assessments and associated procedures.

This course is perfectly suited to shift supervisors, maintenance managers and operational workers who operate in confined spaces. It can also be used as refresher training.

The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and Confined Spaces Safety Regulations 1997 holds employers responsible for the safety of their employees and others. Training your staff on the risks and control measures associated with confined spaces will make sure you are meeting your legal obligations.

Around 15 people in the UK are killed in confined spaces incidents each year. Not being able to recognise a confined space and its dangers, failed rescue attempts, and inadequate safe systems of work are the main causes of fatalities.

This training will make sure your staff are able to identify the dangers of a confined space and implement the necessary precautions, protecting themselves and others from harm.

Syllabus:

  • Unit 1
    • Dangers of confined spaces
    • Covering the 7 main hazards associated with confined space work.
  • Unit 2
    • Confined Spaces Regulations 1997
    • Apply where the assessment identifies risks of serious injury from work in confined spaces.
  • Unit 3

    • Completing risk assessments and ensuring proper safety and evacuation processes are followed.
  • Unit 4
