Objective Of Confined Space Training

A confined space course from Major Training will give you the skills to work safely in enclosed or partially enclosed spaces held at atmospheric pressure during occupancy (but not designed to be primary worksites).

Many roles require confined space training, including safety, injury prevention, and maintenance personnel, engineers, risk managers, mine managers, cable installers and transport personnel.

Obtaining a confined space ticket will allow you to work within these spaces safely. Successful completion of the course will result in the issuing of a confined space ticket.

Our confined space training is ideal for anyone hoping to expand their current skills or looking at new employment opportunities in QLD and beyond.

 

Delivery Of Confined Space Course

Major Training offers flexible delivery with an emphasis on high-quality, reliable training solutions that don’t compromise on safety.

  • Everything you need from start to finish

  • Small groups of 4 to 9 participants

  • Breathing apparatus training option available as an additional cost

  • Courses scheduled monthly from 7:30am start to 3pm

Our confined space course is available in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast in QLD. We can arrange to visit your worksite for certain types of training if necessary.

 

Confined Space Training Includes:

  • Training delivered either onsite with our mobile facility or at a Major Training site in our simulated tunnel

  • Classroom-based training with health and safety, videos, live demonstrations, and clear instructions delivered by our high-performing, knowledgeable trainers

  • Written and practical assessments including all training materials and a hi-vis vest

  • Nationally recognised statement of attainment.

 

Confined Spaces Course

One-day confined space classroom course covers:

  • Relevant legislation

  • Identification of hazards and causes of hazards

  • Completion of entry permits and monitoring of atmospheric conditions

  • Risk assessment

  • Use of emergency response and equipment

  • Safe entry to confined spaces

 

Confined Spaces And Breathing Apparatus Course

One-day classroom and practical course covers:

  • Relevant legislation

  • Identification of hazards and causes of hazards

  • Completion of entry permits and monitoring of atmospheric conditions

  • Risk assessment

  • Use of emergency response and equipment

  • Safe entry to confined spaces

  • Use of breathing apparatus when oxygen assistance in confined spaces is required.

 

Confined Space Training Requirements

  • Be able to read and write basic English (Workplace Health and Safety requirement)

  • Pass a language, literacy and numeracy assessment (LLN)

  • Minimum 18 years of age (Workplace Health and Safety requirement)

  • Provide two forms of identification

  • Wear steel-capped or safety boots on site

  • Sun protection is also recommended (e.g. hat, long-sleeved shirt and pants).
