Confining Emergencies

Course Description:
Confining Emergencies is designed to train personnel to use first attack equipment and/or techniques in a facility to events such as small fires, chemical spills, or facility vehicle accidents. The training also covers the requirements of Australian Standard AS3745 (2010) & AS4083 (2010).

All aspects of this training are undertaken in line with legislative requirements, industry requirements, industry practices and organizational policies and procedures.

Course Overview:
The course will cover but is not limited to the following:

Prepare for Emergency Situations

• Possible emergency situations and appropriate responses
• Identification and location of emergency equipment

Identify and Assess Emergencies

• Identifying hazards and assessing the facility response plans effectiveness towards different hazards

Safely Confine Emergencies

• Emergency resources are used appropriately following facility emergency response plans

Use Initial Response Equipment

• Appropriate use and maintenance of emergency equipment

Report Facility Emergency Response

• Reporting of emergency and facility responses
