Philosophy
The key features of workshops are
Teamwork – there is always a team of several facilitators of diverse background and life experience, with shared leadership and no guru
Diversity – the participants come from a range of ages, cultures, walks of life, and interests, and bring a wealth of life experience to the workshop.
A safe learning environment is maintained by group agreement:-
no put-downs
affirm oneself and others
listen and don’t interrupt
respect confidentiality
volunteer oneself only, speak from the “I”
Reliance on Transforming Power
Experiential rather than conceptual focus
A holistic focus, recognising the spiritual dimension of the person, rather than a behavioristic or rigidly rule-governed focus
Building community is an integral part of the workshop process
Fun and laughter is an integral part of the workshop process
A varied pace, generally brisk, but with time for reflection.
Our organisation provides a positive space for New Zealand people to change attitudes around anger and conflict. We are professional and committed to helping people to help themselves.
We aim to provide people in the Waikato with the opportunity to change their attitudes and learn new skills around dealing with anger, allowing them to make positive changes to their lifestyles.
Attending the programme can result in beneficial impacts such as: improvements in family life, less anger and conflict in the home and wider community, and more people more likely to hold down employment. Overall this means our community becomes safer and less violent and kinder and more caring towards each other.
Our programmes run regularly and participants can attend both anger management and conflict resolution workshops.
Our Vision
“A positive space for people to change attitudes!”
Mission
To reduce violence in the community and enhance quality of life by providing programs in anger management and conflict resolution.
Understand the root causes and dynamics of conflict in the workplace. Learn the essential skills to effectively manage conflict by encouraging reflective practice and open thinking.
Most people mishandle difficult conversations - often because they fear conflict. This programme focuses on helping you understand your typical conflict habits, with a view to improving your approach. It teaches the practical skills needed to manage difficult situations.
Empower your employees with our Conflict Resolution training course, specifically designed for individuals who encounter challenging negotiations and emotionally volatile individuals, or require enhanced communication skills.
When two or more people come together they potentially have differences and conflicts. We often don’t even know why we feel good or bad about something or someone. People with different personalities, goals and needs can learn how to work out their differences in constructive ways.
Conflict Management Training is offered by New Zealand Security Association. The stated objective of the New Zealand Security Association is to do all things necessary and lawful to ensure there is always available to the New Zealand public
